A free day in Barcelona
Free Barcelona would fill its own guide: here is the whole day built from its best, from morning light to sunset at the Bunkers, wallet unopened.
Morning: what's admired from outside
The facades of the discord block on Passeig de Gràcia, the Sagrada Família's Nativity facade if you've already seen the interior, and the whole old town: cathedral, plaça del Rei and Roman streets.
Midday: markets and churches
Boqueria or Santa Caterina at shopping hours with a cheap counter breakfast; churches open at worship hours and the Palau seen from its facade. The cheapest set lunch is two streets off La Rambla.
The end: high and low Barcelona
Up to the Bunkers del Carmel for a 360-degree sunset and down to the seafront for the last light on the water. Both free, both better than half the paid tickets in town.
